The Auxiliary’s current president, Cathy Boggs, works tirelessly to inspire, invigorate, and engage the Auxiliary members. After a recent New Member Drive, the Auxiliary boasts many fresh faces and untapped energy. For the first time, this year they participated in the Annual Craft Fair, selling homemade wreaths, bath salts, stationary, and baked goods. All of the proceeds helped enhance the Patient Care Fund. “The Craft Fair was a great way to raise money for the hospital and we had a wonderful time making the wreaths together,” Cathy commented about the success of the new fundraiser.
While most of the Auxiliary’s efforts support fundraising, many members are active volunteers in the hospital as well. Frances Shuey, a volunteer for 42 years, works at the Information Desk several days a week. Lisa Welch, a new Auxiliary member, assists weekly in the Adult Day Health program. Consistently each month, Cathy, a retired teacher, decorates the bulletin board in the Pediatric Center with colorful, kid-friendly designs and helpful information for parents. Lisa Estes-Cheatham supports the Outpatient Therapy Services department at the Reception Desk two days a week. Daily, weekly, and monthly, Auxiliary members are making meaningful, personal contributions to the clients at Cardinal Hill.
Some Auxiliary members generously give of their time at meetings, some offer their talents by volunteering throughout the hospital, however, to Cardinal Hill, each member is a treasure!
