Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Center/Easter Seals of Louisville

Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Center/Easter Seals of Louisville was founded in 1958 by the Kentucky Easter Seal Society with a mission of providing programs and services, public education, advocacy, government and public relations and technical assistance for people with disabilities of all ages, their families and friends.  We provide comprehensive and caring physical, occupational and speech therapies, Early Intervention and Audiology services to individuals of all ages and from nearly every zip code in Louisville.

While there are hundreds of organizations that offer some of the same services as ours, we are the only non-profit organization in Louisville that is able to provide 1:1 care for individuals from 6 months to 106 years across a broad spectrum of disabling conditions. We are one of only five organizations in Louisville that operates a developmental playgroup. Run by the staff in our Developmental Intervention department, the playgroup includes a group of special needs two-year-olds and their typical peers who participate together in activities designed to enhance their social cognitive and behavioral learning.

Outside of our therapy services, we are active in promoting community wellness and providing information to families affected by disabilities.  We host an on-going series of support groups for individual affected by Lou Gehrig’s disease, which provides these individuals and their families the resources they need to deal with this devastating illness. Our therapists and administrators are also active in the community, providing health screenings at community fairs and ergonomics training to local businesses. Our Jacob C. Koch Charitable Trust Parent Resource Room serves as an important community asset for parents and caregivers of a child with disabilities.
