Chaplain

A staff chaplain is available to provide for spiritual needs. The chaplain is here 20 hours per week for visitation and counseling is available upon request.

Sunday services are held in the Conservatory for patients, their families and friends.

Grievance Procedure

It is the staff’s sincere hope that we can work together to meet your rehabilitation needs. Your opinions and ideas are important to us in planning and carrying out your program.

If you or your family have a problem or concern about your care or your program, please let us know so that we can work together to resolve it.

The first step in the grievance procedure is to discuss any concern with the person(s) involved or your Care Manager. Most problems can be resolved in this manner. However, because we realize this is not always possible, management and administrative staff may be involved in the resolution of grievances, when necessary.

Tips and Gratuities

The hospital requests that patients and their families not tip or give gifts to the staff. When you receive superior care or service that you want to acknowledge, the best gift is a simple “Thank You” and a note on your Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire.

Vending Areas

Vending machines for snacks and drinks, as well as change machines are located on the ground floor.

Gift Shop

Personal items, cards, candy and gifts are sold in the hospital’s Gift Shop operated by Cardinal Hill Auxiliary.

Gift shop hours are posted on the door. If you have a special need, please leave a message for the manager.

Restaurants and Shopping

A number of restaurants are located near the hospital on Versailles Road. Major shopping malls are within a few miles of the hospital. Cardinal Hill staff members can assist you with directions to these.

Transportation

You or your family must arrange transportation to Cardinal Hill on the day of admission. However, if you are being transferred from an acute care hospital, a discharge planner usually is available to help with these arrangements.

Transportation to outside medical appointments for inpatients is arranged by Cardinal Hill.
