Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital thanks the many volunteers who work so hard to provide quality care for the over 9,000 patients served each year. Volunteers are needed in many ways to help staff accomplish the mission and core values.

Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital offers a variety of volunteer opportunities including helping patients to and from afternoon tea, entertainment activities, or teen board.

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers must be 14 years-old or older, provide updated immunization records and a current TB skin test.

Volunteers 18 years-old or older must complete a signed criminal background check form.

Volunteer Process

Complete volunteer application and provide updated immunization records, current TB skin test, and signed criminal background check (if 18 years or older). Return paperwork to Marley Tribble, Volunteer Coordinator, at 2050 Versailles Road, Lexington, KY 40504.

TB Skin tests must be taken within the past 3 months. If a new TB skin test is required, please call 859-254-5701 ext 5369 to make an appointment. If no one answers, please leave a message and someone will return the call. This test if provided by the hospital at no charge.

The Volunteer Coordinator reviews the application and paperwork and submits the criminal background check to Human Resources and Health Screening information to Employee Health for clearance. Upon health screening and background check clearance, the Volunteer Coordinator will schedule an interview with the applicant to discuss volunteer opportunities.

Once the volunteer placement is decided the applicant will return for Volunteer Orientation, receive the Volunteer Handbook, and tour the facility.

Teen Board

The Teen Board is a group of Juniors and Seniors from Fayette and surrounding counties who meet monthly at the hospital to work on a variety of service projects. In addition to the monthly meetings, they volunteer individually throughout the hospital doing activities such as Blueberry Spa, BINGO, and Game Night. The Teen Board also hosts special events such as a St. Patrick’s Day Party and a Spring Fling for patients. Applications are accepted in August and September each year.
