Duties
Clerical Assistants are needed to assist the Quality Management staff with clerical responsibilities in order to enhance the efficiency of the department. Clerical duties include: preparing mailings, filing, light typing, answering the telephone, data entry, making copies, preparing charts, running errands between departments/units, distributing mail, and other light duties as deemed necessary.
Volunteers who prefer to be "on call" would be ideal for this position as projects can be sporadic.
Qualifications
Clerical Assistants must be at least 18 years of age and are required to lift objects up to 10 lbs, alphabetize, file, etc. Volunteers for Quality Management must be detail oriented and be able to focus on a project for long periods of time.
All volunteers must attend a general volunteer orientation as well as a Quality Management department specific orientation and training.
Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers a necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the employee handbook and all hospital policies.
