In collaboration with the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital is improving the lives of the many Kentuckians who live with a Brain Injury.  Brain Injury University is an educational series specifically designed by Healthcare Professionals to assist those individuals who have suffered a brain injury to achieve the following goals: understand deficits, increase knowledge and understanding as it relates to a Brain Injury, facilitate compensatory strategies to increase independence, keep up to date with the most recent research and technology, ask questions about their injury and promote rapport with healthcare providers & other patients who have suffered a brain injury.  These classes are structured to cover cognitive, social, physical and psychological aspects of a brain injury.  Reference material and supplies are free to the patients and families.  Participants have seen an increase in quality of life and are better aware of available community resources after participating in Brain Injury University.

Brain Injury University beat out Baptist East Wellness Center Cancer Exercise Program, James Graham Brown Mobile Mammography Unit and Norton Healthcare’s Patient and Family Advisory Council, all Louisville based facilities.

Medial News Magazine is distributed throughout the healthcare industry in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.  The MediStar Awards were established in 2007 as the region’s premier venue for recognizing excellence in the business of healthcare.
