Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital is pleased to present Athena and The Healing Horse, a solo exhibition of paintings by Monica Pipia.

In the exhibition, Pipia presents a series of paintings that trace a specific interest that the artist has in the healing power of the horse.  “As friends and guides, Athena and her horse took the artist on a journey of discovery. It was a certain mastery of texture and form and feeling.  These paintings resulted from a passion to uncover a vision of truth.  This transmutation was a process of healing life’s burdens and hardships into a living metaphor of wholeness and completeness.  Understanding oneself as a human being and horse as a manifestation of spirit takes me on a healing journey to self.”    Pipia believes “healing begins when I accept the situation. I accept not with resignation but welcome the challenges life presents to me.”

This installation at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital takes on added meaning as Pipia’s sister is recovering from a brain aneurysm.
Monica Pipia is a Lexington artist who has exhibited in galleries both locally and nationally.  Her work is held in private and public collections.  More information available at www.monicapipia.com and www.cardinalhill.org
