“Caring for those you love”
Respite care is generally defined as a “care-giving” service that provides a planned intermittent break from the ongoing responsibility of caring for a chronically disabled individual who is being managed at home.
The purpose of the program is to provide short-term relief and respite for persons who are providing continuing care for family members in the home.
The program offers a supervised, structured environment for the family member who may be experiencing physical and/or mild cognitive impairment as a result of the aging process or medical issues.
The program is open one Saturday and Sunday a month in the Adult Day Health area at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital.
Hours of operation are 9:00am – 5:00pm
The cost is $125 per day or any part of a day. Cash or check will be accepted at the beginning of the admission day.

Opportunities for socialization
Recreational activities to provide physical and mental stimulation
Assistance with activities of daily living such as eating, grooming, toileting, walking and wheelchair mobility
Assistance with medication administration
Supervision and care by an experienced nursing staff
Bring all medications in original labeled containers from the pharmacy, as prescribed by the physician.
Bring an extra set of clothes
Bring any medical supplies or equipment used at home.
Examples my include, but are not limited to the following:
Respiratory equipment/oxygen
Dressings
Catheters or continence pads
Tube feeding and related supplies
Wheelchair
Walker/cane
Splints/braces
Adaptive feeding utensils
