Patrick Kitzman, PhD, University of Kentucky, Physical Therapy Department & Beth Hunter, PhD, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital

This project will examine the needs and treatment barriers of individuals with SCI and their families living in rural communities, as well as the needs and barriers of the health care professionals practicing in the rural communities.  The proposed study will describe the health and quality of life related supports and challenges to individuals with SCI in medically underserved rural communities. We will examine this area from the perspective of the individuals with SCI, their families and the health care providers that treat these individuals in the rural setting.
