Whether you are here for a therapy session, a clinic visit or exercise in the pool, you will find that Cardinal Hill’s staff are the caring, skilled professionals you expect. Like a visit to your own personal physician, coming for outpatient services at Cardinal Hill means personalized care, respect for your schedule and clear communication about our finds and treatment recommendations. To the Cardinal Hill outpatient team, your success in rehabilitation comes first.

Alcohol and Drug Use

For your own health safety and that of our other patients and visitors, Cardinal Hill prohibits use of alcohol or any drugs not prescribed by your physician. Unauthorized use of alcohol or drugs may result in discharge from Cardinal Hill.

Bathrooms

You will find fully accessible bathrooms on the ground floor of the hospital.

Entrance

The main entrance for outpatients and visitors, located at the rear of the hospital located on Versailles Road, is a drive-up entrance convenience for van transportation services and ambulances as well as private vehicles. Wheelchairs are available in the foyer, and there is a lobby waiting area. Patients should sign in at the Registration Desk at each visit.

Firearms

Possession of firearms or other weapons by patients or visitors in the hospital and on hospital property is prohibited. Reasonable suspicion of possession will result in a search by hospital staff and confiscation of any weapon discovered. Possession of a firearm or other weapon by a patient is grounds for immediate discharge from Cardinal Hill.

Snack Room

A snack room with vending machines and a machine for changing one-dollar bills is located in the outpatient area.

Grievances

It is the staff’s sincere hope that we can work together to meet your rehabilitation needs. Your opinions and ideas are important to us in planning and carrying out your program. If you or your family have a problem or concern about your care, sharing it with us will probably make it possible to resolve.

However, sometimes grievances do occur. The first step in the grievance procedure is to discuss your concern with the person(s) directly involved, with your Care Manager or with your Cardinal Hill physician. Most problems can be resolved in this manner. However, if this is not possible, management staff may become involved in the resolution of grievances when necessary.

Parking

Free parking is available near the outpatient entrance to the building, including numerous handicapped parking spaces.

Pool

The therapeutic pool, available for outpatients working with or without a therapist, is staffed by hospital personnel. Dressing rooms are adjacent to the pool.

Smoking

For the health of patients, visitors and staff, smoking is permitted only outside the building in a designated area. Smoking while rolling a wheelchair is not permitted. Tobacco products are not sold in the building.

Tips/Gratuities

Cardinal Hill requests that patients and their families not tip or give gifts to the staff. When you receive superior care or service that you want to acknowledge, the best gift is a simple “thank you” and a note on your Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire.
